Quick Weekend Reminders

We have a problem. I still owe you a second post today, but I'm exhausted, and my head hurts, and I'm behind in editing, and I find myself with just not a lot to say this afternoon. So I'm going to sign off until tomorrow and just leave you with a few reminders regarding any of your potential weekend plans:

- If you're thinking of going to the zoo over the weekend for entertainment, please rethink and instead go to the zoo as a demonstrator standing up for imprisoned elephants. It's the first International Day of Action for Elephants, remember?

- Make sure to support the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale if there's an event near you this weekend. I, for example, will be heading to the farmer's market in Tower Grove Park here in St. Louis tomorrow to buy myself some vegan bake sale goodies. [Edit: Apparently, that last line's not true; I could have sworn there was a bake sale in STL this weekend, but a return look at the schedule tells me it's actually next weekend. Whoops.]

- If your dog pals are going anywhere with you this weekend, please, please, please remember to not leave them in the car and to make sure they have plenty of water available at all times. The heat a lot of our areas are experiencing has deadly potential.

- Take a look at Kelly's latest easyVegan Weekend Activist post, and spend a bit of time over the weekend informing yourself--and making your voice heard--about some of these issues and campaigns.
