SoCap08 VIDEO: "New Wealth Management"
The beginning of what will hopefully be much more complete video from SoCap08, this is a session on "New Wealth Management," moderated by Sean Stannard-Stockton (who runs Ensemble Capital Management and blogs at Tactialphilanthropy.com) and featuring panelists: Raul Pomares of Guggenheim Partners, Patricia Farrar-Rivas or Veris Wealth Partners, Elliot Berger of Merrill Lynch, and Maximilian Martin of UBS.
The importance of this topic stems from the fact that whereas philanthropic consultation and advising used to be a "boutique" service only employed by the extremely wealthy, it's on the cusp of becoming regularized as a normal component of asset allocation and wealth management in general. What that means in human terms is that more and more sorta- to pretty-rich folks are thinking about how they can use their investments to create social change.
