Social Entrepreneurship in Action: Ushahidi deploys to the Congo

Ushahidi, a project I've mentioned here a number of times, has just made their third platform deployment, this time in the Congo. For those of you who haven't read past posts, Ushahidi provides a tool for helping people on the ground use SMS messages to track violence, creating a living timeline that can also serve as a rapid response tool for emergency service providers.
The Congo project is incredibly important and timely. Change.org's Humanitarian Relief blogger Michael Kleinman has been tracking the growing violence and insecurity for the past few weeks. Hopefully tools like Ushahidi can help stem the violence and sustain peace efforts before it grows.
