Something Old, New, Borrowed, Blue...and Fair Trade.

A really good friend of mine dropped some really big news on me this weekend. He's getting married. He's probably the first of my closest friends to go down the matrimonial path, so I got a little verklepmt when he told me (Congratulations, Matty Matt Matt). He insists on keeping it low-key and not a crazy big deal, but I insist on making it extra special so I want to shower the lovely couple with gifts because who doesn't like presents?

I scoured the internets and then remembered that the Fair Trade Federation has some great tips on making it a Fair Trade wedding. Couples can sign up for a Fair Trade gift registry through Ten Thousand Villages or Living Wage. Wedding bands can be Fair Trade. The reception can be Fair Trade with wine and beer. Even your honeymoon can be Fair Trade related!

So many possibilities. All you newly engaged couples out there can start your life together with love for each other as well as the world around you. Congrats again to my dear friends. Expect some Fair Trade gifts from me in the mail.
