States Running Low On Lethal Drug

A shortage of a key drug used in lethal injections could bring executions to a halt in several states this fall -- once again a glimpse into the process of killing prisoners revealing the unsure footing of the death penalty in America.

Drug-maker Hospira says it won't have more of the antithestic sodium thiopental to sell until early 2011, and some states -- including Kentucky, Tennessee and Oklahoma -- are running out.
