The Global Health Policy Center at CSIS, a foreign policy institution in Washington, DC, has established a new commission on smart global health policy, and it needs your help. They commission has some impressive names on the commission, including  Helen Gayle, the president and CEO of CARE, Peter Piot, former head of UNAIDS, and Muhtar Kent, President and CEO of Coca-Cola. The purpose of the commission is to "consider the tough question of how is the U.S. to pursue a long-term, strategic approach to global health." They will release a report in January 2010.

Right now, they're asking for input. They reached out to me, and they're asking you to get involved. Here's what they have to say:

There are thousands of Americans who have relevant global health experience, whether as professionals or volunteers. Some of this expertise is substantive (medical, public health, economic, etc); some of it is cultural/social/political (how to sell their work to friends and neighbors). All of these people would significantly enhance the Commission's work...While the site is still very new, we've been very happy with the quality of testimony for our Commissioners, who are especially concerned with bringing this commission out of the "basement" of a classic think tank task-force and into public view. You work with change.org and comment on a broad range of global health issues (malaria, HIV/AIDS, TB, neglected diseases) and are in touch with an audience of people whose feedback for commissioners would be invaluable.

See - you're invaluable! They are looking for testimony on global health topics. Stop by and tell them what you think matters in global health.
