Corporate responsibility, the psyche of the net generation and a new Google venture firm?:

  • Google Ventures Almost Ready To Launch, But It Is A Bad Idea: According to TechCrunch, Google is soon to launch a venture investing arm. It argues it's a bad idea, suggesting that if a company were really aligned with Google strategically it would just acquire them outright. According to VentureBeat, the fund will be cautious anyway, whatever that means. Why not just make Google.org your investment arm and buy into tech entrepreneurs around the world?
  • Recession and the psyche of a generation: On the always-good Net Generation blog, Naumi Haque ponders how the recession will impact the outlook on young people. One thing is for sure, our generation gets intuitively and buys into the idea that companies create (and should maximize) social and environmental value as well as profit.
  • Engaging Consumers - Starbucks Shared Planet: Jessica at Reimagining CSR writes a thoughtful post analyzing a Starbucks poster and suggesting that they help their customers connect to opportunities that extend their impact beyond the coffee cup.
