The Feminist Queries
For 2009, I am going to launch a new series here at Change.org called "The Feminist Queries." These will be a set of short interviews with interesting women who represent the feminist movement in some way or can give insight to how the women's rights movement effects their work and lives.
The title is a twist on Isaac Newton's "Queries" from his book, Opticks. I liked how Newton posed questions about evolution of science (as I often try to do about the evolution of feminism), which also served as a hypothesis for the movement. In honor of this method, I'd like to have each person I interview end with a question for the women's movement, which will honor the rhetorical nature of Newton's "Queries."
I'm excited about launching this series, but as always, I love reader input. So feel free to send me a message if you have any suggestions for women I should interview and stay tuned for the first Feminist Query to be published in the coming weeks.
