The Top Three Valentine's Day Gifts for Social Entrepreneurs

Valentine's Day should be known as the Entrepreneurs holiday. If you think about it, no holiday better embodies the two most important forces driving any entrepreneur - social or otherwise: love and opportunity. Valentine's Day as we know it came about because 19th century greeting card companies saw a financial opportunity in formalizing a day where people do the thing that most makes us human - share love. Now it's easy to be cynical about that, and it is, of course, important to not weigh your love by the size of the gifts you give, there is still something worth celebrating today.

In that spirit, here are the top three Valentine's Day Gifts for Social Entrepreneurs:

3. A Big (RED) Bear: What could be better than a big (RED) bear - the prototype, of course, of your brand new line of Product (RED) bears for sale across the United States.

2. A Very Thoughtful Gift Certificate: For one free strategy consulting project with McKinsey, in order to improve your impact assessment methodology.

1. His and Her Seed Funding: The king of all entrepreneur Valentine's gifts is the "His and Her Seed Funding." What better way to share your love than launching social ventures together? What better way to stay on the same page by going through the same exhiliration and exhaustion of the startup process?

I'll be blogging from the Clinton Initaitive again today, but for those of you off the grid - have the happiest of days! (and love you Em!)
