Toast to a New Year's Peace

by Daniel J Gerstle · 2010-01-03 07:24:00 UTC

To all of you who have faced adversity in this year's wars and political upheaval, may you have an opportunity to breathe, a moment to replenish, and an opportunity to find new directions toward freedom and better days in the rising sun.

To all of you living in peace and prosperity, may you take a moment at dusk to reflect on all the great things you have, remember those who suffer, and donate to their betterment.

And finally, to the tyrants and jerkoffs who celebrate in other's misfortunes, may you at long last find cause to reassess, change your path, and remember that your fate is inextricably tied to the rest of us.

Everyone, enjoy the New Year in whatever way you can, but also help those who face adversity to survive, recover and rebuild. Life is short.
