US Global Health Funding at Risk

by Alanna Shaikh · 2009-03-31 09:59:00 UTC

We have a situation here - US funding for global health may be in trouble. The congressional budget committees just cut the president's proposed international affairs budget by 5.3 billion dollars in the house, and 4 billion in the senate. A lot of that funding was for global health. If these cuts go through, it's going to compromise US global efforts on global health in a big way.

Now would be a good time to write your senator or member of congress and voice your support for robust funding for global health. You've been following the tournament of pandemics, right? There is some very scary stuff out there. We want to make sure the US, and the world, is ready and able to take the action we need.

The US Global Leadership Campaign has a handy contact site and form letter you can use to send your letter. Do it right now.
