Want to "Invest in Africa"? Give This Kid a Scholarship

by Nathaniel Whittemore · 2009-02-25 11:44:00 UTC

A friend of mine sent me this link to a YouTube video of an absolutely phenomenally talented young musician from Abeka, Ghana.

I know that investing in individual talents is only part of any approach to "invest in Africa," but this video reminds me of the immense power to discover and support talent that the internet opens up for us. Someone should fund this kid's education - musical and otherwise - through the best schools through-out West Africa, give him a chance to study at Julliard (or Berklee, or wherever he wants), and then hook him up with music focused African diaspora social entrepreneurs Modiba.

Any takers?
