#Women2Follow Wednesdays

For those already addicted to the microblogging site Twitter (like me) make sure to participate in this fun hashtag movement started by Women Who Tech - the #Women2Follow Wednesdays.

The idea is simple. Every Wednesday use your Twitter status to support the women you follow. See my most recent #women2follow tweet:

While some don't see the value in hashtags, I am particularly fond of those that make things happen. A hashtag, which is signified by the # sign to distinguish it from the use of other keywords, can be a great community organizing tool. Since I see social media as a method of field organizing for online movements, hashtags serve as a road sign to help direct individuals to the right people and the right places within the internet's information highway.

Take a look at some of the phenomenal women who are utilizing this tag every Wednesday here and make sure to start your own #women2follow list today.
