Zimbabwe: "Racist" Cholera - A New Breed of Genocidaire

My favorite thing about crazy dictators, and their assorted thugs and lackeys, is their penchant for bizarre paranoid conspiracy theories that leave you wondering if they really truly believe the words that are coming out of their mouths.

The latest such theory from Zimbabwe: The cholera epidemic--which has killed nearly a thousand people and infected over 18,000 so far--is genocidal germ warfare initiated by the Brits to pave the way for recolonization.

Says the Minister of (dis-)Information and Publicity, Dr. Sikhanyiso Ndlovu:

The cholera outbreaks is "a serious biological, chemical war force, a genocidal onslaught, on the people of Zimbabwe by the British. Cholera is a calculated, racist attack on Zimbabwe by the unrepentant former colonial power, which has enlisted support from its American and Western allies so that they can invade the country.”

WAIT. It gets better:

"They take photos of people dying in the DRC and Darfur and say these are cholera victims from Zimbabwe," he said.

Bloody brilliant. Where do they come up with this stuff?

Perhaps the good doctor should read this release from Medecins Sans Frontieres, one of the international aid groups that, despite overwhelming pressure and obstruction from the government, is working tirelessly to contain the disease while Bobby is busy denying the existence of an epidemic. Then he would know that cholera's rapid onslaught was brought on by the dilapidated sewage and water treatment facilitaties that have recently become a symbol of Zimbabwe's status as a failed state.
